Excellent question. I reside in FL hot all the time,
and never wear protection, and sans helmet unless
going on I-95 (too many big trucks blow me away there).
I have had some accidents, but to ride in leather
in this heat, why ride? I at least ride for fun
and stress relief.
Wearing leathers would be stressful. I also understand
some ride out of fun and in addition their only transportation so in that
respect whatever you do you are comfortable with is
important.
But heat and leathers to me at least = no fun.
